About Ilia Panov

Ilia was born in 1988 in USSR, right before it became Russia, in a small town called Ulyanovsk. It is an industrial region that produces one of the largest aircrafts in the world and it is the hometown of the legendary UAZ automobiles. He spent his childhood surrounded by world renowned vehicles and this sparked his lifelong passion for design.
He graduated from Aviation college as an IT technician and moved to Moscow to pursue his dream of becoming a Transportation Designer. After taking design courses in Moscow, he worked as an illustrator and graphic designer for 6+ years. During this time, he also worked hands-on with industrial paint systems, airbrushing, mechanics and metal fabrication.
In 2015, Ilia made the move to the United States to pursue a career in concept design. In the past 3 years, he has collaborated with several industry influencers, including JT Nesbitt of Bienville studios and renowned concept designer Matthew Cunningham.
His perspective and approach focuses on the well-known formula: function over form, while still finding value in the beauty of the final product.

- "When I am working on a problem, I never think about beauty but when I have finished, if the solution is not beautiful, I know it is wrong."
